Kid-Approved Banana Choc Cookies

These soft, chocolatey banana cookies are the kind of recipe you reach for on busy days when you still want something homemade. Rich and tender with a brownie-like texture, they come together in one bowl with minimal effort and everyday ingredients. Perfect for lunchboxes, afternoon snacks, or a quick sweet bite, they deliver big flavour without the mess or extra steps, just simple baking and very happy kids.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10–12 minutes
Serves: 12 cookies
Ingredients
2 large ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup rolled or quick oats
1/2 cup Buddee Chocolate Spread (nut-free)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Method
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper
Step 2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the chocolate spread, cocoa powder, vanilla and bicarbonate of soda, and mix well
Step 3. Stir through the oats, then fold in the chocolate chips
Step 4. Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared tray, flattening slightly and spacing them apart
Step 5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until just set
Step 6. Allow to cool on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
