Quick, creamy, and endlessly versatile, this homemade hummus comes together in minutes using simple pantry staples. Blended until silky smooth, it strikes the perfect balance of nutty tahini, zesty lemon, and garlic, finished with a generous drizzle of olive oil. It’s the kind of recipe you’ll come back to again and again, whether you’re serving it as a dip, spread, or side. Fresh, flavourful, and far better than store-bought, once you try it, there’s no going back
Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 mins
Cook time: N/A
Ingredients
1 400g can of chickpeas (brine included)
1/4 cup fresh lemon
1/4 cup tahini
1 small crushed garlic clove
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving
salt to taste
2 to 3 ice cubes
dash of paprika, for serving
Method
Step 1. Add the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, ice cubes and olive oil to a food processor. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Step 2. Spoon into a serving bowl, finish with a generous drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika. Serve and enjoy.
